Worship
Worship is our response to God’s steadfast love and faithfulness. It acknowledges our covenant with God. Together, we worship through the actions of praise, thanksgiving, confession, reconciliation, lament, offering, hearing and responding to God’s word, and going forth into our world. We cultivate this relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit through song, silence, and involvement of our senses and body. The Voices Together Hymnal is the primary source of our worship hymns. Following the work of the Voices Together Committee, we seek to include expansive language and images when speaking of God. We participate in God’s grace and anticipation of a new kingdom through actions like communion, anointing, and baptism. We worship together because it is the core of who we are as individuals and as a body of believers. Our actions reflect our beliefs, which are formed by our worship.
