Walnut Hill Welcome Statement
All who seek to follow Jesus are welcome at Walnut Hill Mennonite Church. As followers of Jesus, our primary identity is image-bearers of God. In an ideal world, we wouldn’t have to say more. However, even though the witness of the Bible is a God who creates and delights in diversity, the Christian Church has often set up harmful barriers and failed to embody God’s love.
Therefore, we seek to be a welcoming space for people with a variety of identities and beliefs regardless of age, economic or social circumstances, immigration status, race, ethnic background, marital status, ability, gender identity or sexual orientation.
We know that navigating differences can be difficult and so we seek to be a place where those who have been hurt can speak up, and those who have hurt others can listen with compassion. We are open to learning and growing so that all can experience a sense of belonging. We honor the values of humility, respect, and curiosity as we welcome each other and engage across differences.
We pray that Walnut Hill is a place where you can flourish as the person that God created you to be!
